PALSS, Inc.

Founded in 1985, PALSS mission is to provide education, health, housing and human services to persons affected by chronic disease with a historical focus on HIV and AIDS.

We provide HIV and STD counseling and testing, emergency housing assistance, mental health counseling, linkage to medical care and prescription assistance, food assistance, and other emergency services.

Benny is one of PALSS' young adult clients. He has been HIV positive since birth and has experienced a variety of adherence issues, including dropping out of care for over 10 months. He contracted other sexually transmitted illnesses during this time, when PALSS' Public Health Assistant started reaching out to Benny to get him back into medical care and counseling. A PALSS' Peer Advocate joined the effort, making home visits to encourage Benny to take care of his health.
