Mirci
About this Organization
Mirci impacts the Midlands community through its services to individuals living with or at risk of severe and persistent mental illness and/or chronic homelessness. For over 60 years, Mirci has sought to uphold mental health by helping these individuals regain stability and independence in their lives. We do this through:
-Outreach
Mirci's outreach team visits parks, shelters, bus stations, and other areas where unsheltered individuals are known to congregate, providing hygiene kits and foodstuffs, screening individuals for health and housing needs, and making referrals to both Mirci services and those of our community partners.
-Clinical Services
Clients in Mirci's behavioral healthcare services receive long-term psychiatric care and case management. Many clients receive Assertive Community Treatment, an intensive, community-based care model designed for services to be provided in the client's home or other comfortable location, and whose teams include psychiatrists, clinicians, and nurses.
-Supportive Housing
Mirci houses over 300 clients who have experienced or are at-risk of chronic homelessness per year in permanent supportive housing units throughout the Midlands.
