Lutheran Family Services in the Carolinas

A nonprofit organization

Guided by its mission statement, 'Empowered by Christ, we walk together with all we serve,' Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC) supports vulnerable children, adults, and families along their life journeys by fostering physical, social, and emotional growth in environments that promote independence, choice, and security

Each day, LSC protects children at risk of abuse and neglect; encourages growth and independence for those with varying life challenges, including developmental disabilities, brain injuries, substance use disorders, and severe mental illness; provides welcome and support to refugees and immigrants; and promotes long-term recovery for disaster survivors. Over the last year, LSC's child and family-focused programs improved the lives of nearly 5,000 Carolinians.

LSC's child and family programs are accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA). This stringent review process indicates the agency is using best practices and is committed to the delivery of high-quality services and positive outcomes to improve lives in our communities.

Testimonials

"We are so excited about the opportunity to partner with SC DSS on this initiative. This program not only fills a void in the child welfare system, but also in the lives of the children and youth served. I couldn't be more thrilled about this program." -- LSC Executive Director of Community and Rehabilitative Services Bethany Vause
