Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina

About this Organization

Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina began operations in Richland County in 1968 and serves 43 counties across the state of South Carolina.
The funds raised through Midlands Gives will train and equip volunteers to deliver specific JA learning experiences focusing on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and 21st century workforce readiness skills to students in the Midlands.
In response to South Carolina's graduation requirement mandating personal finance education for all high school students, Junior Achievement (JA) is at the forefront of supporting schools statewide with proven, standards-aligned curricula. One of JA's newest learning experiences, JA Finance Park Mobile, launched in the Spring of 2024, brings personal financial planning and career exploration to high school students through a hands-on, mobile simulation. Another learning experience, JA BizTown Mobile, is being launched this Spring in the Midlands. Designed for upper elementary and middle school students, JA BizTown allows students to manage a simulated town of 20 businesses, earn paychecks, vote in an election and develop essential work readiness and career skills.
