The Mission of Health Education Consultants is alleviate the suffering and prevent or delay the onset of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease among medically underserved and uninsured populations in South Carolina through health education, wellness and changes in lifestyle.

Funds raised through Midlands Gives will be used for patient educator salaries in South Carolina Free Health Clinics. Patient educators provide health education to people with diabetes, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, and patient who are obese. Smoking cessation counseling is offer those patients who desire to quit smoking. Health education is a voluntary change in behavior to improve nutrition, promote exercise, manage medications and facilitate lifestyle changes.
