Dreher High School Band Booster Club

Our mission is to support the development of character, self-discipline and teamwork through the instruction provided by the Band Director and staff of the band programs. Boosters and it's Board will provide support and funding to facilitate our student musician's common and individual goals thruough self-improvement, leadership and social skills which will last a lifetime.

The Bands of Dreher include the award winning Concert, Symphonic and Marching Bands; along with a Brass Ensemble, Woodwind Quintet, Big Band, Steel Band, Jazz Band, Rock Band, and United Sound Program. The Dreher Bands are one of the top band programs in the state of South Carolina and have earned the SC Band Directors Association's Outstanding Performance Award 7 of the last 9 years (Not available in 2020 or 2021). The Marching Band has earned top honors and performed in the SCBDA State Marching Band Championships in 2017, 2019, 2021,-24, finishing fifth place at State in 2023 and in 2024, were the Lower State Champions and the Silver-Medal Winners in the State Finals. The band regularly earns Superior Ratings at the SCBDA Concert Band Performance Assessment and Solo and Ensemble Assessments. Along with music; we teach important life and leadership skills in order to help our students be more prepared for their high school careers and beyond.
We regularly host the Richland County School District One Honor Band Clinic and annual 8th Grade Nights and Back to School Bashes.

Our Bands also perform in the community for special events; including the Governors Cup half marathon, SC Philharmonic fundraiser at the state museum, Fireflies Baseball National Anthem, Richland One Music Speaks with the Philharmonic for all Richland One 3rd Graders, Columbia Veterans Day Parade, Park parades at Universal Studios and Disney Parks in Florida, and pop up concerts along Devine street and Soda City.
Our Students and Adult volunteers have worked with the 5 Points Association to help set up the Annual St Patricks Festival in 5 Points for multiple years (excepting 2020 and 2021 because of Covid)
