My name is Quantella Jamaica Perry and I was born in Charleston, SC. I began my art of writing at the very precocious age of eleven years old. Writing gave me the outlet when my life became very challenging and the hurt, I was experiencing was very overwhelming. I can honestly say that writing saved my life. I discovered that through writing I could turn my pain into purpose and that's when I discovered one of my gifts which is to tell a story by transcribing it down on paper. Later I also learned that putting pen to paper was very therapeutic for me and where authentic healing can truly begin. I believe that our gifts will be found when we find a need and meet that need with our gifts and talents. When I found the Columbia Writer's Alliance I was able to utilize my gift of writing and published my first book entitled There is a "Purpose for Your Pain."
Columbia Writers Alliance is a vision God blessed me with to bring together aspiring writers and published authors with an outreach to guest speakers of every genre to inspire those in attendance. It is a literary balm to the writers and the community to share the importance of reading and writing, driven by the belief that writing is healing. It is truly a blessing, not only to me but to so many others who have joined and have been apart of the organization and it growth since its inception in 2002. It is always great joy when an aspiring writer becomes a published author.
Jerlean S Noble
President & Founder
Columbia Writers Alliance.
I have made presentations to The Columbia Writers Alliance several times and am impressed with the level of dedication of the members to the literary arts. While they remain focused on honing their writing skills, creating excellent stories, poetry, fiction and nonfiction, they also reach out to the community at large, especially the children, sharing with them, the joy of writing and using literature to make a difference in the world.

I have been a member of the Columbia Writers Alliance since 2009. For me, it has been a privilege to sit under the leadership of Jerlean Noble, President and founder. She is my mentor, as well as my teacher and my friend. I have self-published five books since being in the organization and have loved meeting, sharing, listening and learning with many other members. A great plus is always the outreach to the community and the awesome guests that come to share and teach. She has a love and passion to inspire others and continues to inspire young and old potential writers to write their stories.
Carolyn Ellison
Inspirational Author
The leaders and members of Columbia Writers Alliance is gifted in knowing the potential of words to inspire, heal, and help; she is also alert to the destructiveness, hurt, and harm that words can cause.
We all have been given life that we know can spiral down to bitterness, but many of the members are blessed with the regeneration of the gift of faith in Jesus Christ, understanding that even in the cup of suffering and tragedy...we can sing praises to our Lord Jesus Christ who can transform hurt, hatred, and harm to victory, joy, and hope through writing and testimony.
This is another reason why Columbia Writers Alliance and other supporters took on the great challenge of organizing the timely and timeless Memory of the Emmanuel Nine. Praise our Lord, for this is a lasting lesson for all of us in South Carolina, the United States, and this searching world of ours in 20l7...
