Who We are
It is the right of every pregnant woman to give birth, and the right of every child to be born.
Since 1980, Birthright of Columbia has helped clients access the resources they need during pregnancy and beyond. Our direct services include pregnancy tests, maternity clothing, GED support, online parenting education, newborn care and lactation classes, and layette items for both mom and baby.
We also connect each client to a personalized roadmap of community support, including prenatal care, food and clothing assistance, counseling, housing (temporary and long-term), financial support, employment resources, and education.
Above all, we strive to equip every family with the tools they need to thrive while surrounding them with the compassion, encouragement, and ongoing support of our dedicated staff and volunteers.
In 2025, Birthright of Columbia was able to award 2 Neglia Family Scholarships!
The first recipient had just started studying accounting at Southern New Hampshire University. She is a single mother of 2 children, ages 8 and 1. She shared that she wants to stress upon her children that it is not too late to chase your dreams, and that education is a vital stepping stone for change.
The second recipient is a 20 year old mother who attends Midlands Technical College. She is studying to become a Respiratory Therapist. Her goal is to complete her associate's degree, then work as a Respiratory Therapist to gain experience before going back to obtain her bachelor's degree.
Birthright of Columbia is so proud of both of these moms. We know that they are reaching for the stars, and are honored to be able to give them a boost.
