Edgewood Summer Camp

The mission of the Edgewood Foundation is to educate and empower our community through youth development,family life skills, literacy, nutrition education, afterschool/homework help, summer enrichment, cultural arts and recreation.

Edgewood Foundation is located in the Edgewood Community Columbia near Benedict College and Allen University where we serve families throughout the Columbia Area. We provide a safe place for the children that attend our Summer Enrichment STEAM Camp. During the school year, we assist children with school supplies at the beginning of the school year and at the beginning winter months or any other time when they need additional school supplies.

During the Summer, our Summer Enrichment program exposes students to cultural events through field trips and ensure that they continue their Gardening, nutrition, math, science learning throughout the summer. The will spend time learning aobut different career opportunites for future development. This helps them retain study skills and prepares them for school readiness when they return to school at the endof the Summer. We have seen an improvement in student grades over the years and many of them are listed on the A or A-B Honor Roll at their respective schools. We are very proud off our Students and their accomplishments.

Testimonials

Funds from the Midlands Gives are used to help pay the tuition of disadvantaged children who would not be able to attend our Summer Enrichment Camp. T hese disadvantaged children received three meals and a snack during the Summer Enrichment Program and participate in cultural and recreational activities as well as Educatonal courses that focus on Math, Science, ELA, Team Building, life skills, and gardening.
