Between puberty and the mid-20s, the adolescent brain goes through a spectacular change that supports extraordinary advancements in learning and creativity.

However, I've seen firsthand the long-term effects of not giving young people age- and medically-appropriate information. A young person I adored became a young parent at the age of 13 when I was 20 years old. Unfortunately, they were thrust into systems not designed to help young parents thrive.

Education about reproductive health deserves the same respect as that about cardiovascular health. It's not a morality discussion; it's a health discussion.
