$3,000 Goal

A spinal cord injury changes life in an instant — routines disappear, independence is questioned, and the future can feel uncertain. The South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Association (SCSCIA) exists so that no individual or family has to navigate that moment, or the long road that follows, alone.

We walk alongside people from the earliest stages of injury through lifelong adjustment, connecting them to peers who understand, resources that restore independence, and education that rebuilds confidence. From securing essential equipment and navigating complex systems to preventing isolation and creating community, our work focuses on helping individuals reclaim control over their lives — not just medically, but socially, emotionally, and practically.

Our goal is simple: a South Carolina where a spinal cord injury does not define a person’s opportunities, participation, or sense of belonging. Every program, service, and partnership is built around empowering individuals to live fully, engage meaningfully, and move forward with dignity.
