The Woodshed Archive was founded to build an internet (digital) library by recording, broadcasting, and preserving in perpetuity music of many genres created and performed by Southeastern musicians. Its purpose includes offering permanent access for researchers, historians, scholars, people with disabilities, and the general public to historical music collections that exist in digital format. As a non-profit serving the Arts & Culture community, the Woodshed Archive provides the best mechanism available for enabling individuals, groups, and communities to tell their own stories, to share their experiences and, in this media-rich world, to become creators and contributors of a number of music collections that can be enjoyed by all. Your support of the Woodshed Archive will ensure that these original musical compositions are sought out, captured, shared, and preserved with the utmost quality and care so as to benefit the arts community for generations to come.

"Hey friends! We are honored to return to one of our favorite places on earth, the Woodshed! We are blessed to be part of this family of musicians and music lovers who make up this special project which preserves the homemade music of the southeast. Please take a moment to give us a listen at https://woodshedarchive.org. While you're there take a minute to read all about the Woodshed, and maybe donate a buck or two. Love y'all! Peace, The Juniors"

"Good evening! Thanks for allowing me behind the curtain!
All jokes aside, I really dig what you all do for local music and musicians...alot of work goes into making this happen and I will support it in any way I can."

"The Woodshed stuff is just some of the best stuff in Columbia if not the best definitely the best people"
The funds raised through Midlands Gives will be used to purchase and maintain the equipment and resources needed to build and preserve our digital archive and public radio station as well as to help fund ongoing projects: specifically, high quality audio and video recording equipment and software, bandwidth to broadcast live and recorded performances online, and library/archiving software. Two current projects needing funding include our ongoing Columbia Live Music Archive with over 400 hours of recordings and a very special project to archive over 40 years of DAT tape recordings of the Charleston Symphony (recorded by archivist Leonard Gibbs). Your donations will help directly fund these worthwhile projects. Please visit our website for more information.
