Classical Healing Keys uses musical concerts to present stories like Lauren Oliver's to help break the stigma of mental illness. Will you help with a small donation?

I'm looking for just ten donors. Will you be one of my ten?

"When I was 14 years old my dad died by suicide. Yes it was very, very hard. But my mom thought that was the only reason I was in a downward trajectory. When, honestly that wasn’t true. I remember my best friend my senior year came out as gay. I wish I had come out as mentally ill, but I was afraid of the stigma."

"I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and GAD which is generalized anxiety disorder. I had delusions, psychosis, and paranoia. I was told by countless people, especially professionals that I would be too sick to every amount to very much. "

-- Lauren Oliver at #StigmaFree Concert

15% of South Carolina youth experience major depression and 13% have seriously considered suicide. Adults are in a similar boat with almost 25% experiencing a mental illness in the past year and over 5% having serious thoughts of suicide, according to data from the state Office of Mental Health.

A recent study published in the National Library of Medicine shows how stigmatization of mental illness is a major barrier to seeking and receiving help.

This same study shows that simple exposure and awareness is one of the most effective ways of breaking the stigma!

Classical Healing Keys presents classical music concerts featuring world class musicians. The music is amazing!

But the best part of the concert is what happens between the music.

Between musical numbers you will hear a few local people briefly share their personal story of living with mental health challenges. These stories will not only give the audience insight into what it's like, but also offer hope to others who struggle.

The best way to break stigma is to see and hear how real people like you and me live their best lives, even with mental illness.

I support Classical Healing Keys!

My goal is to find ten others to support them, too!

Will you?
