Building Veteran Housing in SC

Veterans in our community face ongoing challenges with housing stability, trauma recovery, and transition to civilian life.

VAlanthropy is developing a veteran housing community in Sumter, South Carolina, designed to provide long-term stability through permanent housing and access to support services.

This project is currently in active development, with site preparation underway and construction pending final approvals.

THE PROBLEM

Many veterans experience barriers to stable housing and recovery.

Housing instability increases the risk of unemployment, mental health challenges, and long-term hardship.

Without stable housing, long-term recovery becomes significantly more difficult.

THE SOLUTION

VAlanthropy builds structured housing communities designed to support long-term stability.

The Sumter project focuses on:

• Access to support services through community partners

Support services in Sumter are provided through local partners, including the Hidden Wounds Resource Center.
