Happy Wheels & All the Good Feels!

All in my feels for Happy Wheels...  

About 9 years ago, my mama heart felt a tug to get involved with an organization specifically for kids. I wanted something small, passionate, and local - that’s when I found Happy Wheels as I googled charities focused on children. The first time I pushed the cart I was all in - hook, line, and sinker. Feeling so grateful that God opened the door to be a part of such an amazing cause. Every room we visit we see a precious child whose eyes brighten and moods lighten as they pick their favorite toy from our cart full of happiness. The nurses see us coming and they welcome us with big smiles. It’s a bright spot in everyone’s day, especially mine. Explaining to the kids and their families that all of our new toys and books are kindly donated by friends and businesses in the community brings joy and hope just when it’s needed most. We get the chance to bring a smile and make a hard day a little easier - it’s something you don’t forget. It’s something you can help with too. Midlands Gives is a chance to help Happy Wheels keep spreading the joy with a book or toy. I am asking my friends and fam to give from your heart. Without pushing the cart you can all play a part.💜 

One day, each week throughout the year, Happy Wheels volunteers make rounds to each inpatient room with a decorated surgical cart filled with brand new books and toys. Happy Wheels visits approximately 400 children weekly at all 3 children's hospitals in South Carolina. Each child gets to pick out one toy/book of their choice every week for the duration of their admission. They get to keep the gifts and take them home!
