POWER CHANGERS FOR POWER IN CHANGING

Power In Changing celebrated 10 years this past August, 2025. With that came a make-over: New logo, new website. However, we still focus on empowering families to become self-sustaining and independent. At our core - Diaper support which help instill hope and dignity.  A few $$ ($12, $25, $50, $100 - you choose) for diapers or period supplies can make or break a budget.

Everyday, Power In Changing addresses issues affecting families with pregnant/nursing moms, babies/toddlers, and feminine hygiene. The key - offer diaper distribution services, Prenatal Power support and Power Cycle initiatives that fill in when money is tight.

Unfortunately, in this day and time, It has become increasingly difficult to explain the importance of these services. We’ve heard – there are more important issues – it’s just a diaper; it’s only a pad; and vitamins, optional. 

Funny thing, it should be about the impact addressing the total needs of families struggling each day, not which is the flavor of the day!  

Supporting Power In Changing should be about making sure we offer comprehensive community support to recipients.  As you consider a gift, please consider these facts:

1. One in two families with children under  three experience diaper need:
   • The need in the Midlands is over 8 million, and in SC 85,000,000.
   • Power In Changing distributed 465,000 diapers last year (over 70%, in the Midlands). The remaining was statewide distributions, especially during times of emergency.  This represents less than 1% of the need.  People - we are hurting.  We need your support.

1. According to national health statistics, South Carolina ranks near the bottom when it comes to infant and maternal health; very high when it comes to deaths:
   • Last year, Power In Changing provided prenatal vitamins to 175 pregnant and nursing moms so that their babies have a chance at healthy starts, reducing risks during pregnancy.
   • Last year, Power In Changing distributed over 60,000 pads to women and girls through its Power Cycle program. Help Power In Changing make an impact on the health and safety of our state's most vulnerable.

 3.  Diaper Banks, on average, do not received     support from any type of governmental             funding.  We depend on you to help your             neighbors, friends, family.
